Recognize different kinds of progress
A score shown during a run may be temporary. A level, unlocked item or saved profile may persist beyond a round. Look for a save icon, account indicator or explicit progress message instead of assuming that every number is stored.
Progress may be stored in the browser, through the game's publisher or in a platform account. These methods behave differently when you switch devices, use private browsing or clear site data. The game's own help page should explain its current save behavior.
Verify before you leave
Before closing a long session, look for a save confirmation or return to a menu that preserves progress. If the game has a manual save action, use it and wait for its confirmation. Avoid refreshing while a save indicator is active.
For a short game with no save feature, finish the current round if you want to keep the result. A page reload may restart the game even when the browser itself is working correctly.
Be careful with browser cleanup
Clearing cookies or site data can sign you out or erase locally stored progress, depending on the game. If you are troubleshooting, consider whether you can first test in another browser profile or close one tab without deleting data.
Do not share account credentials to recover a score. Use only the official account recovery process of the game's publisher or platform, and do not send private information through an unrelated game page.
Understand resets and replay
A restart button may begin a new round, reset a level or clear broader progression. Read any confirmation text before choosing it. If the game has a prestige or rebirth option, check exactly which items persist and what is lost.
Replay is useful when you can identify a change to test. Try a different route, move order or control timing rather than repeating an identical run without new information.
